What technique do you use while creating your paintings?

I love to paint on glass because this technique allows creating multilayer images - some colors and elements are under the glass and others are above it. These intersections of layers make paintings deeper and brighter. Love this effect!

Pomegranates and trees are your main heroes. Why so?

I adore trees and pomegranates, I find them deeply symbolic. The tree for me is all about cause and effect, interconnections and aspirations. The pomegranate is used in many countries as a symbol of life and fertility. Through a combination of these symbols I reveal topics of inner growth and willingness to find your place in a world.

What are your plans for the next year?

I've never participated in collaborations and I dream about creating a painting in collaboration with other artists.

It has been ten months since I wrote my last blog. And Covid days are still here...

It seems time flies and at the same time it is standing still, don't you think so?

Last year has been a good year for midnightin.amsterdam, and also 2021 is fully planned with new inspiring art exhibitions from great artists.

Although the streets are quiet during the second lockdown, and especially with the curfew, the art window of midnightin.amsterdam is always there and the light is always on.

So. We've just decided to keep on going, show you new art pieces every month. Art that makes you smile, think or wonder. It's all we can do. Make plans and just keep going.

3 important questions by Benjamin Nyari

What is your earliest memory of painting and When did you start to

create art?

I grew up in an artist family, as my father is and my grandmother was also a painter. I was

involved in art before I could write down my own name and could see my dad working on large paintings with different techniques every day, so it was very natural for me that art is part of my life.

It was motivating and I found it very impressive that you can create something with your own hands freely and people find it amazing and unique.

How would you describe your art creation experience?

The paintings show my inner self and my feelings: my doubts, my anger, my happiness, or

something that took my attention on the day when I paint. They are not the result of any

conscious effort or procedure they are a result of something that happened around me and I want to show it to the word.

What does art make you feel and what is your overall favourite aspect of the creative process?

Freedom and happiness. When I see an art work I feel the hunger to go back to my studio and work. I have several steps while I am making a piece and honestly, I love each of it but if I need to pick one its maybe the beginning or the finish when god knows why but I decide its done and no more touches.
